finals

So the top one is a revision of the last Uelsmann tribute, titled "Sunday Morning." The bottom photo, starring Jeff Kaplan and Russell Deryer and his sidecock, is called "In the Steamroom." I think Kevin Ames sorta dug this one. This shoot was done in the steam room of a gym near my house. There were a few guys, mostly much older, who happened to be using the locker room while were shooting, many of them just hanging out with their penises out. Once we got the light situated and it was time For Russell to drop towel, I remember suddenly feeling kind of weird that Jeff and I were now the only fully clothed men in the locker room. Also, I had called ahead to have them turn the steam room off before we got there. Let me just say that a public steam room at room temperature that hasn't been cleaned smells like giant bag of old man balls. I could barely step inside the room, let alone marinate in it for about 20 minutes while some dusty I just met takes photos of me. Thanks again, guys.

Megahn Svetich's VIP Australian Wooden Boat Festival Invitation

Here are some photos I took for my final assignment in Advanced Lighting. This is my friend and designer Megahn Svetich's ballerass VIP invitation for the Australian Wooden Boast Festival. She built this thing from the ground up. Super pimp. These photos are being submitted to some design competition as the judging criteria for her work. Thank you a million times to Meghan for giving my a uniquely awesome and wildly challenging subject to shoot for my assignment, and also for being patient while I spent nine hours figuring out how to light this fucker and another four hours in post giving it a little extra zing - I hope I am able to bring her closer to that award.

Another Uelsmann Tribute

Threw this one together in the wee hours of the morning last night while listening to Ravi Shankar and burning Nag Champa...not that that really has anything to do with the content or process of putting this little doggy together. I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of this wild instrument called Photoshop.

Psycho Nitro Weekend

This weekend I attended and documented a four-day remote control car racing event called the Psycho Nitro Blast. Here are a few portraits I took of some of the racers. Believe it or not there are professional rc car racers who make a living racing these souped-up mini-screamers at different events around the country. Pretty sick. More photos of the weekend coming soon.
